3" Lift or Level?

    I went to 4wheelparts in town the other day and the man at the counter recommended me the King OEM Performance Shock Kit. He said it would lift the front 3" but the rear would stay the same i mean its obviously leveling it right? But i do go off roading quite often and would like a good lift for bigger tires and more clearance but wouldnt i want to add lift in the rear as well? Sorry lots of questions ive been lurking for awhile but havent found a good answer yet advice would be greatly appreciated.
