SO I JUST GOT MY PRO COMP 7069 16x8 4 BS -12MM OFFSET RIMS TODAY AND WENT TO PUT THEM ON (WITHOUT THE TIRE) AND WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO COMPLETELY TOURQUE THEM DOWN THEY ARE EXTREMELY CLOSE TO RUBBING THE FRONT SECTION OF THE CALIPER. LIKE IM AFRAID ONCE THERE WRAPPED AND FULLY SEATED THEY MAY RUB. SO I GOT ON WHEELERS AND ORDERED THE 1/4 SPACERS AND EXTENDED SPLINE STYLE LUG NUTS. IS THIS SMART? SEEMED LOGICAL TO ME.. HAS ANYONE USED THESE SPACERS?

All caps is considered rude, like yelling.

    Please don't.

You ever get these mounted with tires to see if they rubbed?

I just got the 7089s and went through the same thought process. They are close but do not rub for me. I was surprised how close they were but when I compared with the TRD alloy wheel there was very little difference in clearance. The TRD alloy wheel was just as close to rubbing as the ProComp 7089s.

I've got 285 M/Ts on mine. I can throw them on and give a couple pics and feedback but I won't be able to until Sunday. The wheels are at home and I have to travel out of town this evening. If you're interested I can throw them on and take some pics later this weekend to show clearance.

It's ok to grind the calipers down a little too. There is a rib that runs down them, just grind it at an angle.

It's because you have the -12mm offset, too much on an 8" wheel. The 8" wheels should be 0mm offset, which will give you an extra 1/2" clearance. On a 17x9, the -12mm is acceptable.

If the inside of the wheel is close to the caliper it wouldn't be the offset it is the way the inside of the wheel is. I ran into this on a set of Mazzi hulk's on my tundra. Just ground a lil bit of the edge on the caliper so no contact was made.
