I am thinking of having a Ranch Hand grill guard installed on my '14 Tacoma. Functionality wise I need something to help in case of hitting the massive (80lbs or under) southern deer and for another tiedown point for kayaks, canoes, etc.

Ranch Hand seems to be the top recommendation for frame mounted grill guards. Does anybody have any experience with the product? I'm not a serious offroader so I feel that a complete bumper replacement might be too much.

    Thanks!

For the price of one of those you could have plate bumper with far better protection.

Ranch hand doesn't make a full replacement that I know of for the Tacoma, Just a bolt on junker. There are better options if you're looking for real protection.

Those are called damage multipliers for a reason. You hit a deer and the brush guard plunges into your radiator. You are better off hitting a deer with stock bumper. Go plate steel bumper.
