    Too few to list.
OP mentioned a wife and don't know if there are any kids already or might be some in the future, the double cab would be the way to go. So if you're going new, I suggest you get a DC as well.

I did not begin doing mods to my truck untill it was paid off, I am happy I did that because now I can afford to do the things I want to do and not have to worry about paying a truck note every month. Keep your truck pay it off and in three years you will be a very happy man with money in your pocket to do what ever.

Thank you all for the input, I ended up keeping my truck four a couple reasons. 1 was taking out a brand new auto loan again, yes my payments would have been cheaper but only by 15 dollars a mo. second was the size of the AC, drove great but no where near enough room in the back of the cab for what we needed, and were trying for kids so this is an issue. third was all the time and money I have put into my truck I have now. I couldn't imagine having to buy a whole new OME lift when mines only 4 months old. I guess at the end of the day what really made me change my mind was seeing my truck parked at the dealership while I was waiting for the salesmen to put a dealer plate on the new truck so I could take it overnight to try it, I just stared at my truck and got a sick feeling in my stomach that I actually might not own it anymore and that was it my mind was made up. I couldn't wait to get back the next day and pick my truck up from the dealership lol.

No I wouldn't now either. I honestly felt like my truck had more power. is that even possible? I did like the new touchscreen radios and the feel of the new steering wheel though.

Yea, but when it's paid off you can get a new touch screen and anything else you want. I had to replace my sound system my truck is a 05 no touch screen and now I have a head unit with a kickass system, know why,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,NO TRuCK PAYMENTS!!! You can began to mod it the way you want to without having that NOTE hanging over your head every month. Congratulations smart choice.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Now take your truck to a pro for a complete wash and detail job.

New Navigation DVD/CD/TV/AV/Bluetooth Stereo and seat mod spacers, 1" hubcentric spacers, seat heaters....
Northeast, the longer you own the truck the more that 'scale rust' is going to spread. eventually tanking the frame...

Just something to think about, the new one you can start fresh, make sure it get treated/coated annually from the get go, be anal about it.....

However, I also wouldn't want to be tied into the extra three years of payments, I hate payments...

If (IF) your worried about the age and minor surface rust, shop around for a similar trade into a double cab. Access cabs are great, but downsizing trucks with a family would be tough and in my personal opinion, the DC is slightly more popular and sought after than the AC most of the time. In the long run, your payments will go up slightly, but that's better than a 5 year payment in a truck you might regret purchasing, because you're already a double cab household.

Yeah man... I think you made the right decision. Of course I'm no one to talk since I just traded in my 2011 Tacoma for a 13. Had a little less than a year and a half and it would have been mine. Now I've got 4 more years to pay

But... I did get a 4x4 this time instead of a PreRunner and the truck is loaded and the payments went down due to the equity I had built up in my other truck. Was it a good financial decision??? Nope... Buying new never is but it sure is fun.
