She has a 99 honda passport, it's 4x4 but I have no idea if it's EX or LX. There is a plastic piece on the end of the locking rod inside of the driver door, the clips into the outside door handle in order for her to open her door from the outside. The piece is on there, but it falls out, so she has to climb in her passenger side. I am trying to find a diagram or the door online so I can get a part number and just get a new piece, but all I can find are full owners manuals for sale. If any of you guys can find me a diagram of the driver door I will owe you one!

Hm... this diagram doesn't really show the outside door handle.. The piece is need is a plastic piece on the end of the rod, and the rod goes staright up from the door latch and attaches to the outer door handle. The plastic piece on there is now is broken, which allows the rod to come off the handle bracket and not work.

You might find what you need at your local auto parts store (Autozone, Pep Boys, etc.). Those stores usually have a section of general parts for that sort of problem. Take that one with you and see what is available.
