aftermarket wheels vs. stock

Hey guys I got a question. i have finally figured out my rough ride problem i have been having. it was due to the idiot a bought the truck from having steel lug nuts on alloy wheels, the lug nuts have bore out the stud hole and they do not fit like they should, I borrowed some stock wheels of my buddy's 04 tacoma, and instantly i could feel the difference, she definitely rides like a cady now. my quesiton is, i am looking for some new wheels to replace my old ones, do aftermarket wheels fit as good as stock wheels? will they jeopardize the smooth ride or is there any difference at all? i have heard some people in past forums talk about hubentric and lugentric, does they play in effect as well? thanks.

 

An aftermarket wheel can fit up every bit as good as a factory one, provided you do it right.

If the aftermarket wheel's centerbore is bigger than your stock centerbore, you'd be looking at a lug-centric fitment. Lug-centric fitment requires more care and effort, but it can ride as smoothly as a hub-centric fitment.

You can also add hub-centric rings to get the (relatively) more stable hub-centric fitment with an oversized centerbore.
