    Hi Everyone,

My radio reception has been poor, the radio looses "stereo" on most FM channels around town. By contrast, my wives car has no issues in the same areas and maintains "Stereo".

I replaced the exterior antenna parts as I read on the forums that they get corroded over time (which mine were). It helped a bit, but didn't fix the problem.

Today I pulled the radio to make sure the connection on the back was good and clean. Everything looked good. Has anyone else had trouble with reception and how did you fix it?

Also - The connector circled by green in the photo is where my antenna is plugged in. What is the connector in red? It was blank.

    2009 Ex-Cab, Base Model(No SR5,TDR), (No JBL)

    Thanks Everyone!
    Chuck

I have the same problem in my 2011 Tacoma. Some days it seems to work better than others. I would be interested to find out what is wrong with it.

I'm no expert by any means, I have no idea what I'm talking about  but, maybe the wire from the antenna to the radio has a short or something in it. All the little bends that wire has to make around metal pieces may have rubbed into the metal a little. Or, it could be the stereo itself. See if a toyota dealership would look at it; free of charge, of course ;)
