Has anyone else with the 6MT noticed the lag or delay that occurs when you floor it? To me it feels like you are waiting for the computer to decide when to open the throttle all the way.

My previous car was an 08 WRX that made around 300 ft/lbs of torque. It was a 5 speed. It also had drive by wire. I purchased a conservative "off the shelf" tune which included an adjustment to the throttle sensitivity. Not only did it improve responsiveness, it also improved some of the weird throttle tip-in and rpm hanging issues that were programmed into the ECU from the factory.

Are there any open source ECU reflash or "chips" or otherwise ECU modifications that might have this feature? So far I haven't been able to find any mention of any sort of drive by wire throttle adjustment...I'm also wondering if I am expecting too much from the truck, coming from a much more powerful and lighter vehicle.

Maybe a conversion from drive by wire to drive by cable would be a better solution.

I appreciate the responses but I'm not sure I want to really modify my truck. I'm not very wrench-savvy. My last car had a K&N air filter and an ECU re-flash as far as engine 'mods.' I like to keep things fairly stock.

I will say that after spending more time in the truck, I have grown used to its lazy attitude. I guess there's no hurrying this truck without the addition of a supercharger. I think the first thing I'll do is some maintenance. I don't know what the status of the air filter is or the MAF sensor, so I'll try that first.

I wonder if there are any tuners who do supercharged Toyotas who would be able to adjust the drive by wire settings?
