Selling a set of 2005+ Headlights that have been BHLM'd and have FX-R projectors in them. Please note, I'm selling these with the understanding that it's going to be a project; they're NOT ready to install and go..

    SOLD!!!

    Bulbs are Phillips/Osram 85122+ (4300k) D2S - Retail for $95 alone from TRS.

Also comes with a set of Morimoto 6000K D2S Bulbs

FX-R Projectors from TRS; they're about two years old - although the reflector bowls have only seen about 5 hours of run time. The chrome coating on the original projector bowls flaked off due to poor quality, TRS sent me new reflector bowls.

So you have reflector bowls with only 5 hours run time.

    The Bad -

You're going to have to take apart the headlights and re-align the projectors. Not a huge deal, as the JB weld is pretty easy to break off and re-do. I rushed when I replaced the reflector bowls, and the alignment got goofed up.

I also forgot to put a shroud on one of the projectors when I re-did them, which - isn't a huge problem as you're going to have to take them apart anyways..

Headlights are off a 2007; no major pits or scratches -although they have seen the Alaska Highway twice. I'd rate them 6/10.

Also included is the TRS wiring harness for error correction and ballast power..

NO BALLASTS! Please don't PM me asking what ballasts come with it. They're long gone..

These are awesome lights - and have a great output when things are dialed in. I could put the time into them and re-do them, but - I determined that HID retrofits just aren't appropriate for me and my truck. I do a lot of backcountry exploring, and have found that a traditional OEM halogen setup is much easier to maintain and and troubleshoot out in the backcountry.

    Thanks for looking.

    Jake

Even if you decide just to scavenge the parts from this setup, it's a good value.

    Thanks!

Yeah I would have re-done them again.. But I just got tired of throwing money at them..

One of my ballasts crapped out, and was going to have to downgrade to 35 Watts anyways.

But - someone's going to have a great project.

Exactly, 150 bucks, plus some time patience and maybe a few more parts for a Fx-R is good!

Yeah, I got really tired of dealing with TRS. Had to fight them to get replacement bowls..

Basically, I originally retrofitted these lights with Morimoto Mini's way back in 2011.. 55 Watt ballasts.

6 months later, the reflective coating burned off the bowls.

Then TRS admitted that they no longer sold 55W ballasts and Mini's - because they were too small to dissipate the heat.

    Okay..

Then they promised me that the FX-Rs would be fine to run that much heat, and offered me a new set at about a 20% discount.

    Okay..

Then the coating on the original FX-R reflector bowls burned off, about 3 months later.

Then TRS admitted they had a poor quality production run, and would only send new reflector bowls in an attempt to fix the situation.

Then one of my ballasts shit the bed on me..

They're incredible when they work, and I do wish that I had the patience to get them functional again, but - I just don't have the time or energy.
