My truck is a '99 Tacoma 4WD 5-speed manual, 3RZ/2.7L/4 cyl. DLX standard. Has 216K miles. When I shift into 2nd and 3rd gears there is a mild bearing type sound for a second just after I let off the clutch then sounds normal. (the best I can describe it). The noise is constant all the time when I shift. A friend of mine said it sounds like my clutch plate is the issue. It runs and shifts normally though but this indicates something is slowly failing. Thoughts anyone?
