Just bought my2012 tacoma 4.0l trd offroad a few days ago. Can't wait to test it out. Question for you all: is tailgate theft something I should worry about. Guessing with integrated camera it is expensive.

    Congrats, welcome to tw.

Yes it happens quite often... It takes 5 seconds and can be done without triggering most alarms and I assume bring a couple hundo easily.

Look up "pop n lock" and throw a hose clamp around the side where the tailgate pivots with the notch.

The pop and lock will also make it a little harder to steal ur tail lights.

Yes this is a common job.... Tailgate requires no tools, tail lights require a 10mm (iirc) socket only. Throw the socket on a cordless drill and its done in seconds.

The tails can also bring in a hundo easily.

Keep in mind those items I listed can be sold very quick because they will fit all 2005 and up Tacoma's.

Look around Craig's list, eBay, and ur local classifieds..... Odds are u will see some of these items.
