Read many of the threads that I could find on the forum. For the most part they were old, or didn't cover what I am looking for. Daughters Boy Friend has 2007 4x4 Tacoma TRD.I have 2006 Tacoma so were off to a good start their anyway :) What I am looking for is a remote start only for it, that's not so bad to install as a DIY with someone with a very good electronics back group. If that's not the best option based on experience or other reasons? What is the best system's available based on your opinion and why? just trying to make a informed purchase before I buy one. So many on the market all promising to be the best. Any help, advise, opinion, are insult :) would be a great help!
    Thanks Keith

you can't go wrong with any of the DEI brands. As for DIY you should check out this website/forum http://www.the12volt.com/ as a resource and see if you still want to tackle the job.

On a side note I recently had a Solace starter installed on my 07 and so far so good.

Not sure my brand but I stopped by a local audio store and had a starter installed, works off my original fob and total job was $299. 1.5 hours to do the job. BTW, I love it!!

Still looking, but the Astro website is not much help on what module for my Tacoma. Also looked at the website with all the electronics information. basic electronics to me. I have my degree in Electronics Engineering. But that doesn't mean I know it all either. Like the saying if you don't use it some times you loose it. I have been in the medical field since the day after I graduated, for a very larger medical company. But I also play around in my shop repairing cell phone and that sort of stuff in my spare time. Bottom line I still haven't found much info on the remote start. Seems they want you to go to a dealer. Again I do thank you all for the information and help. Still looking. Keith Thanks All
