Previous owner used to haul heavy loads, so he put an AAL on it and TRD front suspension with a lift and custom rear suspension for added weight capacity. I recently installed a tow package (Curt with lifetime warranty) So i will definitely see what this thing can handle as far as weight goes.
Anyone else with a 4cl 5 speed experience an awkward shifting feeling? I know i do, My clutch seems to only catch when the petal is about 2 inches from being completely out, its a brand new clutch (7,000 miles) it makes starting in 1st a tricky thing because you think the clutch should be catching then BAM! Right at the end it catches. i had a clutch part t.s.b and the dealership fixed it free using Aisin parts. Also, When shifting from 1st to second i get a clunky feel. I know its a truck and its not designed to be completely smooth. It has its good days and bad, sometimes its clunky, sometimes i'll drive around all day and its smooooth sailing, Just wondering if any other owners have experienced it.

Also, Its normal for the drivetrain to make a light tick when i engage the clutch in- and sometimes when i re-engage right? if not, let me know cause i can feel a click or a ting somewhere in the drivetrain sometimes. Some say its the leaf springs, I think it may the the shaft or the diff. <--- only sometimes does it do it. Usually at a stop or when shifting through rough terrain or dips.

Switch to synthetic gear lube in your differential and gearbox. helped me alot. much smoother shifts and no more 3rd gear issues.

I just adjusted the clutch pedal free play or the clutch pedal engagement point, mine also engaged high. It was driving me crazy. I've owned my 06 six speed for a few months bought it used with 173,000 I just figured it needed a clutch. But I did a couple clutch tests and towed my boat several times the clutch never slipped and I never smelt clutch. I bled my clutch slave, searched this forum and never really got a good answer but found that plenty of people with the same problem. So here's how you do it, you need a 12mm and a 14mm combination wrenches look under the clutch pedal arm (inside the cab) you'll see a rod with the 12mm jam nut and a 14mm square end above the jam nut loosen the jam nut twist the rod by hand til you have a couple inches of free play, free play is the down ward travel on the pedal until you feel resistance. Start your truck in neutral make sure it goes in gear and lets out where you like it shut your engine off and tighten the jam nut and your done should take all of five minutes.

I heard that adjustment can end up with the clutch pedal hitting the floor and not engagin at all. How long has it been since you made that adjustment? And is there any resistance in the petal or does it just hang there?

Your adjusting the pedal engagement point not the clutch, it's been a couple weeks now towed my boat no problems. I highly recommend it. No hanging, it feels like a clutch should feel like. Don't Be Afraid.

Hey, my 2012 6 speed is doing the same exact thing as you... And I get that odd tink too but I don't think it's the leafs at all, I think it is the front breaks adjusting themselves ... And as for the awkward clutch mine feels the same , it like catches right at the top, it's so weird, kinda like jolty.. I mean every thing you described is the same as mine... It's agrrivating and 2nd gear shift sucks, it's too rough... But it feels like the clutch actually disengages itself when going from a stop.... Maybe that's something built in so u don't burn the clutch out.??? Idk. :(. I'm getting a trd quick shifter for Christmas tho... Maybe it will clear up so shift quality issues.. ???
