When you use a USB thumb drive to store you music, and play it through the audio system in your Tacoma, how do you get the songs to arrange/play in order? As it is, all my music plays from song -> song & artist -> artist randomly. No, I don't have the "random" feature enabled on the player. I'd like to be able to listen to each album from song 1, to 2, 3, 4 and so on. I have a 2013 without Entune.

If you open the folder in your computer's media center, you can sort your songs there in the order you wish them to play. At least it works for me.

I don't know how it works on the radio without entune. I can set up a playlist on mine IIRC although I haven't. I have set it to just play a album by a certain artist or similar songs or just set it on random and rock out. But with a few thousand songs I kind of like the idea of not knowing what is coming up next.

Didn't really answer your question. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

"The play order of the stored MP3 files in Volvo USB player are in the physical order the files were saved in the USB memory.
If for instance track #3 was added BEFORE track #2 in the USB memory, then track #3 will be played before track #2.
To organize files that are not played in the correct order; delete the files from the USM memory and then add them again in that order that they should be played.
Note: Neither track id nor file name has any impact of the play order."

Found this response from a different forum, but apparently the same topic. Hmm.

If I'm not mistaken though, You can set it up to play by track, album, or file name. I'll have to mess around with mine tomorrow. But I'm also talking about the JBL entune Nav system so that might be different also.

I had a lot of song files that were really random stuff, some were just the title etc, back from the old free napster days etc. When I loaded up my usb I took files and created fake albums and added the artist info etc via my laptop. I get a generic album art on my entune jbl nav when they play, but at least I can find them vs having everything listed as track1 etc. It can be done pretty easy, it just takes some time to sit down and do them.

I'll have to go through song by song, and see if the files are named in a funky way. I've had this issue before when I used to p 1 r a t e music.

I'll give Drivesort a chance. It seems like FAT32 partitioned drives behave this way.
