Hey guys, this is my 1st post here. I've snooping around for weeks while I've been waiting for my '14 DCSB to show up. Anyway, below are a few items that I want to tackle first. Can you give me some tips on what brand you prefer and why...

    1) Stubby whip style antenna
    2) In channel vent visors
    3) Rubber or plastic all weather mats (black)
    4) 3 fold HARD tonneau cover
    5) Low profile black bug shield
    6) Tail gate lock (I do have the back up camera)

    Thanks,
    John

I've noticed that not may guys are using bug shields these days. Maybe my thinking is 'old'. Should I ditch the shield? My truck is Black and I'm going for that clean all Black look...

I like my clear bug shield on my super white. I used to have the smoked OEM one but it left marks on the hood.

OK, I scheduled the window tint on the front doors for next week. Also special ordered a 14" black whip antenna.

I personally don't like the look of bug shields as they seem to break up the lines of the truck. They don't really protect anything since the hood is so flat. As far as the antenna goes I just used my stock antenna and cut the ball off the top, cut the antenna down to 14", epoxied the ball back on, and painted the antenna with matte black paint. Free and easy.

Weathertech mats seem to be the mat of choice of all members here. Expensive but worth it.

On the tint.... I paid a local shop some cash and they did the whole front windshield. Benefits include less glare from headlights at night, cooler when sitting in the sun and also prevents the dash from fading/cracking. It is an 80% tint. No one can tell unless you tell them.

I thought about doing that too. I've actually seen some people around here with dark tint on the windshield and they are completely stupid. But yeah... I can see the benefits of a real lite tint up front even though it is illegal as hell here.

    Yeah.
I have the AVS hood deflector and in-channel vent visors and really like them. The hood deflector has deflected at least one stone successfully and seems to help with bugs at least a little.

For floor mats, definitely the Weathertech digital fits.

I don't have any of the other items, but thinking about the pop-n-lock for the tailgate. Already did the anti-theft hose clamp mod.

For the floor mats check out the Aries 3D mats. I got a set for my 2014 DCSB and really like them. They fit great and have a nice "refined" look compared to the Weathertechs but still protect the carpets nicely.
