GoPro- Black or Silver

Which one would you guys get? Is the Black worth the extra $100?

 

given they both do the exact same thing, it comes down to your wallet, you want to spend an additional $100 for nothing, up to you...


I would save the $100 so I could get more mem for recording...

I have the 3Silver. The only real reason I would want to get the black, would be for the (I believe it's) 120fps option, so you can run a slow motion. If you have a smart phone, then you don't need the remote, just the free app.

Everything else between the black and silver is pretty much negligible.

 

Auto low light in black is worth it. Superview mode is also nice. I use it a lot.

 

Go black.

wasn't worth it to me. I got the Silver. I don't do much in low light so didn't need to spend $100 for a feature that's barely noticeable anyway. The wireless remote? The silver still does wireless, just get the iPhone app and it does all the wireless controls and lets you see what your shooting too.

Black version is nothing more than a gimmick.

 

I ordered a black version, should be here any day. Then after I ordered it I found out there is a + version.

My friend scored a Hero3 black for I think $229 or $249 or something at BB. The Hero3+ was $100 more. they were blowing out the Hero3 black's. Good deal.

 

Go for the silver, the image is great, no need for the extra remote. This is still shot from my GoPro Silver, using the iphone app as the remote.

 

Been searching for deals on silver + model. I think I'll get that one but not in a big hurry. I just need to get it by April. I'm leaving for a big camping trip from home and hope to make it at least to Boise on the way to visit family in Phoenix. I plan on staying in campgrounds along the way and sleeping in the back of the truck.

 

I really like the simultaneous video and photo on the Black 3+.

I use it all the time on my iPhone and why I am leaning towards the Black vs the silver.

 

That photo is a still from a 1080p, 30fps shot. I use Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 11 for video editing, and it has a feature to save a frame as a photo, essentially you can save 30 stills for second, if you'd like. This photo was also obtained the same way. So you may be able to use the editing software to get stills & video at the same time without that model GoPro.
