Good luck. They acted like they didn't know what I was talking about at mine. When I produced the printed TSB they said ohhhhhhhh THAT TSB.

Interesting... are your dash/head lights increasing in intensity when you throttle up as well? Bad voltage regulator / alternator?

Same here. I heard it would start around 5000 miles and sure enough it did.

Mine started making noise right after I bought it (brand new). I let it go because I wasn't really running the air, but now that it’s cold I've had the heater going. Fricken thing is loud and annoying the piss out of me. Will be dropping this thing off at the dealer ASAP. Stupid squeaking and chirping is embarrassing and makes it seem like my truck is a piece of junk.

It amazes me Toyota didn't correct this problem long ago, not too happy about this. You kind of expect a lot more out of a vehicle that cost around 25-30k. This is ridiculous.

Anyone else think the actual air flow from the vents sucks too. The blower in this truck is crap compared to my old car, 2000 Toyota Camry. That thing had enough power to almost blow your hate off.

Okay, I have the new blower motor in and so far so good, It is 5° F this morning and no noise. I visually inspected the motor and it is a different design, so maybe Toyota changes vendors. I also asked about the insulator kit and they said that it was out of stock. I'd rather not have that so I can hear if it goes bad again.
The service writer said that they have not replaced very many of the blowers, so I'm wondering if people aren't hearing it or if it was just a bad batch of motors.

My 3rd motor is chirping loudly now after 13 months. Of course, I am now outside my 3yr/36k warranty so I will either tear mine apart to clean & lube it or buy the new part. Oh well, think I will just clean & lube the current one & wait to see if problems with the new part crop up in the coming months. Hate to waste the money if new part starts making noise like previous model.

I just got my third blower motor put in this morning. The service advisor told me that i now have the upgraded blower motor from Toyota. He said something about some new "template" for the frame of the unit. So far, I don't hear anything... it is very quiet.

I have the newer blower motor on the way hopefully it's quiet. The damn ticking/chirping noise annoyed the hell out of me last winter and I didn't want to fix it if it was going to start-up again but hopefully this redesign fixed the issue.

This is why I'm going to wait & try the clean/grease 1st. I am going so wait a few months to get the new motor to see if it really is the cure.

F-ING hilarious! I just dropped my tacoma off at the dealer this morning for my 5k mike service, yes, my truck is brand new and I have been dealing with this noise since it had zero miles on the truck. I gave them the TSB, showed them the noise and they have already replaced the motor, no for the funny part, I asked for a courtesy vehicle for the day, they put me in a Chevy (Aveo, I think) and guess what happens when the air is running on low...tick tick tick tick, same exact problem! I remember reading in one of these posts that the air blower for the tacoma is made by delco, well its the same POS that is in the Aveo apparently.

My 2010 Tacoma has been making that ticking noise only when the heater is on the two low setting and drives me nuts. I took it back to the dealership and they pulled it inside for 20 minutes, gave it back to me and said it's fixed, no charge (it was under warranty anyway).

It started again after a couple months. So today I pulled out my air cleaner above the motor and blasted the motor with silicone lube spray. Noise is gone. Not sure how long this will work. Has anyone else tried this instead of taking apart the blower motor?

I probably did the same thing the dealership did.

There is a whole thread about how to fix them. They are not difficult at all to take out nor disassemble. The sure fire way to get rid of the squeak is to by the updated blower motor and install that.
