Has anyone seen the Lexus NX concepts at either the Frankfurt or Tokyo auto shows?

The big thing is that it looks like Toyota is going to make the jump into modern turbo chargers for fuel economy.

They have long stated they can't see the fuel savings Ford et al are claiming, but that has either changed or they have decided if you can't beat'em, join'em.

As far as the Tacoma is concerned, it's worth noting I believe the Amarok has Volkswagen's 2.0 TFSI and the 2.0 ecoboost in the Escape allows it to tow 3500# when properly equipped.

For those people who just want a little "more fun to drive" power, but aren't towing the 2.0 could replace the current 4 banger. A 2.0 could replace the V6 as well and then all the turbo diesel fans could get their wish as a proper replacement to the V6.

I don't know how many people actually work their Tacoma at its 6k towing capacity, but I would guess the 2.0 would be enough for over half of owners. That makes the diesel premium price point justifiable to those who do actually need the power for work and don't want a full size pickup.

Anyone else think the 2.0 could end up in a gen 3 Tacoma?
