That picture of a Hilux has been floating around for 2 years, posted by magazine sites and others as the 2014 or 2015 Tacoma.

Right now, NOBODY outside of Toyota corporate knows what is happening with the next gen Tacoma.
Certainly not Cars Direct... who has an interest in selling as many RC trucks as they can.

When the press release comes from Toyota, you can believe it.
When it is from Truck Trend, Motor Trend, or any other blog or ezine, it is not verified fact. It is presented as fact, but is mostly speculation and wishful thinking.

A year ago we saw that picture with claims that the '14 would have a DI Ecoboost that Toyota had teamed up with Ford to produce.

Well duh.....it says HILUX right there on the side doesn't it, so I don't think you can claim that they were trying to fool anybody with that picture.....

True....you begin hearing about vehicle updates a few years in advance, but eventually it reaches a point where so many different sources are claiming the same thing that there has to be a ring of truth in there somewhere. My fear is that they are going to emasculate the Taco into some Soccer Mom vehicle, just like they have done with the rest of the line, particularly the 4 Runner. All the more reason to get one now!

Some of the articles from last year seemed to be attempting just that.
One image was flipped backwards making it hard to read, and both were smaller than that one, again, making it hard to read.
Or more likely, someone reads something on TruckTrend, then repeats it on their publication, and so on and so on.... you end up with 6 articles over 2 years that are based on someone's assumptions.
