I got a 06 double cab tacoma without the jbl radio. I'm getting 2 12s behind the back seats. Will my stock speakers be loud enough to hear the music with the subs in the back?

    What type of 12's?
how much power are you running to them?
    what type of box?

Lots to know.. But odds are yes.. Will it sound clean, doubtful.

Kicker comp shallow mount with a kicker 1000 watt amp. And it's just a box behind the back seats @aw9d

Ported or Closed box? Ported box is going to be really loud and i think would drown out the stock mids.

I had a 2 400 watt rms, 10in subs in a ported box in a 4runner. the stock mids were drowned out at about %75 volume.

Closed box won't be quite as bad but I would be on the look out for a good deal on aftermarket speakers and switch them out when you get a good deal.

Does the amp you are looking at support a remote bass knob? If so get one of those then you can adjust the bass as needed per song so you don't over power the mids/highs until you can upgrade them later. Having control of the sub output on the fly is very handy and a cheap work around for now.
