hey guys hows it going? very new and looking for some insight on how to mount a bed rack on my truck, when i finally get it.

I'm hoping to make a bed rack and mount a trucktop tent in the near future but am curious what the capacity of the OEM utility rails or will I defiantly have to mount it to the bottom of the bed?
Any pics of your bed racks and how you mount them is also appreciated if you have some available!

thanks in advance for your insight!:D

Definitely mount to bed or edge of box but not the rails. They are to strap down bikes, lawn mowers, dishwashers, and other light duty.

I would even be nervous cranking down to compress the suspension on a dirt bike.
    Aux D-rings FTW.

I suspect the tent kit will come with the proper mounting hardware.

thats kind of what i thought.

it does come with mounting hardware that bolts it to aftermarket roof racks, so thats essentially what i need to make in a bed rack. just need to know how to mount the rack.

I just have a 4ft Firestik antenna mounted on the rail. But seeing how much the rail can warp, I think I'm going to have to shore it up a little...
