Buy a tail gate net. I watched myth busters and getting one of those out performed everything else. Leaving your tailgate up gets better gas mileage than a lid or shell. Believe it or not, taking your tailgate off will decrease your mpg

all of these will actually make your mileage worse if you cant control your foot

is the scanguage really important...cant you just use the head to keep rpm as low as possible..or is it better than that?

just get one of these guys to tell u which rpm is the best for shifting, my guess from startup is a little over 2k, u want to get into a higher gear faster than slower, after that its just low rpms

for motorcycles there is a company called powercommander that allows you to customize the fuel map your fuel injection uses. is there anything like that for trucks? i suppose, theoretically, you could use it to customize a leaner fuel map, or one with less horsepower that saves gas.

honestly a scangauge is would be worthless for me as a fuel saving tool. If you need an expensive device to tell you how to drive efficiently, then it is a great investment

Absolutely correct! Myth Busters has tested this several times revealing the same results. And surprisingly enough--The test with the tonneau cover didn't get as good of gas mileage as just leaving the tailgate up. They ran this test using a fuel flow meter which was suppose to add to their accuracy. "Right foot mod. is best. Or, try a different pair of shoes. lol:)
