So I have been told the 2009 trd Offroad has larger than normal calipers and most, if not all aftermarket 16" rims will not fit my truck.

I've been having a very hard time finding any local supplier that carry 16" rims, so trying on one to see if it fits is near impossible, as the retailer does not want to ship in a wheel if it doesn't get bought.

I just bought a set of 16" duratracs and put them on for the winter. I see tons of 2009 trd models with aftermarket wheels, but it seems to be a case by case thing. Some fit, some don't .

I understand the other options like extending my studs and adding spacers but that's going a bit far for me.

All I want is a black rim... I didn't think this would be so hard.

Anyone had wheels that didn't fit their 2009 trd model? Apparently the sport and Offroad models both have same calipers. I see tons of pics of tacomas with 16" aftermarket wheels but was there any mods made or spacers used?

Anyone wanna buy some slightly used duratracs? Lol...

Pics or info regarding 2009 trd models and aftermarket rims would be greatly appreciated

The '09s are not any different than any of the other 2nd gen Tacomas. It all depends on the wheel. You could probably do a search on here and find some 16 inch wheels.

oh believe me I have searched a ton and seen em all...

if I had a place I could test fit then i would be ok, but it seems its 50/50 on all 16"rims so i dunno if I feel comfortable ordering some in.

the pro comp guy told me the 09's have larger calipers and there is 3 types all different sizes on out 05+ taco's and no way to tell which one you have

Don't go by what Pro Comp/4 wheel parts says. 09's have the same calipers as any other Tacoma from '05-'14. Best thing to do is find a reputable tire/wheel shop.

True say, I have a fitting for the 7089's soon hopefully then I will see for myself.

My only problem is finding a shop willing to bring in a set for a test fit as all shops around here do not seem to stock wheels, instead order directly from manufacturer and they don't wanna take a risk and lose money in freight

You got any pics of your new setup looking straight ahead from the front and straight looking at the back. Just trying to see how far they stick out past fender. In the last pic, it does look like they stick out which is a good thing but could be the angle of the photo.

No I do not but I can snap a quick photo for ya.

I think the tires stick out about an inch... 4.5" backspace
