It's widely know the B&M Short-Shifter for the 6-Speed Gen 2 Tacoma has been discontinued for some time now. However, there are some out there still to be had.

To refresh your memory, this is the one I'm talking about:

    http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/61-2nd-generation-2005/196730-b-m-shifter-install.html

It seems from the photos that the shifter shaft is maybe half an inch to an inch longer than the stock shifter - it just has less travel.

What I'm trying to find out is the actual height of the shaft compared to stock. There are a number of short-shifter kits out there, but almost all of them use a shaft that's the same height as stock, or shorter. I'm looking for one that's roughly an inch or two longer. Shorter-travel, but longer shaft.

Does anyone have the B&M kit installed that could confirm the measurements and tell me if it's in fact longer than factory and by how much?

    Thanks
