I have a signature link to explain the functions of traction control, including the factory chart... Having a Sport, you don't have as many choices but the first few you do.

Glad you got it reset... in a nutshell (for others reading this), Here is what does what in your 2010 Sport (info applies to all 2009+ Tacomas):

*H2: TRAC (automatic limited slip with engine regulation)

*Press VSC button: AUTO LSD (TRAC OFF: limited slip without engine regulation... this is a stronger slip limiter, should one tire spin when you try to drive from a stop or park). VSC is off to 30 mph while in AUTO LSD MODE.

*Stop moving, press and hold down VSC button until light comes on: VSC OFF (no traction control, only one tire will spin if stuck).

*H4: TRAC (automatic limited slip on all 4 tires but without engine regulation, as with AUTO LSD in H2).

*Press and hold VSC button (while stopped) until light comes on for VSC OFF mode (no traction control).

    *L4: No traction control.

NOTE: In 2012, H4 TRAC became engine regulated and a TRAC OFF mode (unregulated) was added.

2WD OFF ROAD TRDs have a locking rear differential.
4WD OFF ROAD TRDs also have A-TRAC (L4 traction control) and a rear locking differential.

The limited slip in H2 is light and you will have wheel spin before it will activate, so there is no nanny takeover. Use VSC OFF MODE if you think spinning around is cool or you fear technology. Seriously, these systems make a 2WD truck feel like it is in 4WD on slippery roads, specially the AUTO LSD and VSC functions.
