speedometer question???

    So i just 4wd swapped my 2000 tacoma and put 4runner trans and t-case into my truck but i dont have an area as far as i know on my trans to plug my speed sensor in anybody know??

    both use different sensors to measure, you need to order the sensor and gear for a 4wd and put it in the transfer case. theres a little teal plug blockage the whole you need

    On the right side of the transfer case just before the rear output flange there should be a place for a the speed sensor. I know some 4runners used the ABS system to get the speed signal, but even those cases had place you could mount a VSS. I have never messed with a 2wd speedo system, but I have changed out the speedo gear on all three of my Tacoma's transfer case. If you can get a picture of what you have now, maybe I could help you?? what year 4runner did your trans and T-case come from?

    Im aware... This is what he'll need I ddid the same thing, doesn't matter what the 4 runner used he has to use this and splice into the tacoma wiring.

    His Tacoma should already have the wiring. He will likely need to extend the wires though. Do you know if the T-cases like the one he has, needs the drive gear that is on the output shaft? (the gear that drives the one you posted)


    PS. The picture you posted looks like the one that came in my truck (4x4). Do the 2wds look the same, or are they different?

    Yeah hell just have to extend his you're right, and no the prerunners use a different sized gear and sensor.

    thanks guys im just so close to 4wd that i can almost grab it t-case was blown up before we even got a chance to use it so we are getting the new one under warranty thank god and hopefully it will be running tonight :D
