Hello all. When I look out the rear view mirror, the gate doesnt look straight. Also, when I look at the bed from the rear, it doesnt look straight either? It appears to be canted and sits lower on the passenger side by 3/4 of an inch. Anyone else experience this? Will adjusting the bed more or less correct this problem? Ive read a few threads of people adjusting their beds but mainly because their beds arent straight from front to rear. I was also wondering if I need to adjust to bed to correct this issue? Can the bed be adjusted by just one person? I dont think I can find anyone to help me if this is a 2 person job. Where are the bed adjustment bolts located? Do I need to crawl under the truck to access those bolts?

I also read a few things about the 'taco lean' is this what I have? I read that the taco lean is on the drivers side in which my case, the problem is on the passenger side.

    Thanks guys.

Hello thanks for the reply. Ill get some pics up as soon as I can. Basically, if you were driving behind me, it would look like the passenger side of the bed is lower than the drivers side of the bed by about an inch. Wierd thing though is that its not the whole truck....it just looks lower where the gate and tail light is in the passenger side. The front side of the bed is aligned straight with the rear windows. The rear side of the bed though is whats lopsided. When I look out the rear view mirror, I use the bottom of the window as a guide and it doesn't seem to line up with the tail. Hope this makes sense. Thanks

Thanks again yall I love this forum! Been on it all day reading....

    Pics will help,

not familiar with the older tacos much, but could a bushing be shot on the pass. side? Do the beds even mount with some sort of bushing? I would think they do..

Im not sure if it was a rear-end or if backed up into a pole. I think the previous owner backed up into a pole of some sort. Or maybe a tree. There is a small dent on the passenger side of the bumper but with no scratches...thats why I think it may have been a tree. I carfaxed it before I bought it and there were no known accidents.

My co-worker told me that my bed looks lopsided because my rear suspension is blown. the passenger side sits about an inch lower than the driver side. I measured from the fender to the tire and its off by about an inch. :(

Sounds like typical 'taco lean except it's usually the driverside that droops , could be coils in front but its usually the cursed whimpy tacoma stock leafs that take a dump, regardless of dr. side or pass. side
