I have had Verizon from the begining, great coverage and service. Pretty good luck with the in-store service also. I'm about to get an iPhone so I will be going with AT&T and I'm a little worried.

screw them all check this out!

If you own a cell phone or wireless device, you're being held hostage by the giant telecom companies. You discovered this if you recently shopped for a new phone -- you're forced to use AT&T if you want a new iPhone, and you're stuck with Verizon if you want a Blackberry Storm. I just took action and I hope you will join me.

In fact, eight of the 10 most popular wireless devices on the market today are shackled by "exclusivity deals" meaning you can only get service from a certain provider, or your phone is basically worthless. But it doesn't have to be this way. In Asia and Europe, up to 80 percent of cell phones sold can work on any network. Yet here in the United States, you're chained to one company, so you can't shop around for the best service deal. That's not a free market that's just un-American!

I just sent an email to Congress asking them to change the wireless market, and Free Our Phones so we can shop around for the phone we want, and the service deal we want. Would you take a minute to do the same?

Just go to Consumers Union's special action page at http://cu.convio.net/FreeYourPhone to send an email.

A few years ago consumers' outrage forced the industry to let us take our cell phone numbers with us when changing companies. Let's use our voice once again to Free Our Phones from exclusivity deals.

I use sprint, have for 15 or more years. They are Headquartered here in my city, so I like to support the local economy. I have never really had any problems, I travel a lot for business as well. I do wish the iphone was on Sprint and not AT & T though. Although my bro in law got a new Sprint Pre phone, pretty awesome phone, I am going to have to get one when my blackberry dies....

Started out with Cingular then had to switch as I went out of their coverage area.

Switched to Alltell which is now Verizon.

Tried Sprint....lack of coverage and customer relations so I dropped them both from Cell and home.

Tried Sun which is now AT&T....couldn't talk across town.

Had verizon for the last 6 years and I aint switch'n....

I've had sprint for about 9 years now. Verizon never had good coverage in WV where my folks live, so it was either sprint or at&t. When I got my first phone at 18, at&t wanted a $400 deposit to start with. Went to sprint and was out the door with a new phone for less than $100. Never looked back.

We have Verizon...and have had them for 6+ years.

I get discounts through my employer. We also have our DSL/Phone service through them - which makes it convenient and bundling the services together can add to the discounts. Verizon is the only carrier we've ever had in cell phones. No complaints in service. We buy our phones at BJ's (more discounts).

My husband and I & my mother-in-law are all on our account. We get new phones every 2 years when our contract is up - just because we like to get new phones. We're due for new phones this month!!
