This morning I started my truck and drove off, turned headlights on and truck died. Turned headlights off restarted truck, drove few hundred feet turned headlighs back on and truck ran fine.... Returning to truck after work, door dinger and radio face plate came on when i put key in ignition and turned to acc position. when i turned key to "ON" position radio face plate went off and dinger got quieter, turned to start position and nothing happed, not even a click. After more fooling around Batt good "12+volts" but headlights very dim. after checking fuses I removed "STA" 7.5 fuse and tried ignition and it would turn over but not crank.??????? Does anyone have any idea whats going on?

Welcome to the forum. Maybe we can find out your problem with a few questions about your battery. Your problems have the symptoms of a battery with a dead or shorted cell. So if you can answer these questions, I am sure we can work out a solution to this.
How old is your battery ? You wrote that the battery has 12 volts, How do you know this ? Do you have a voltage / Ohm meter to read the battery voltage ? Can you replace this battery with a known good , and see what happens to your Taco.
If you can answer these questions, and with more information from you, we can help you fix your problem. Good Luck.

I made a mistake in the original post. It wasn't my "STA" fuse i pulled and it turned over, it was my "ING" fuse. And that was very odd to me. TACOGUY, i did check my batt with a voltmeter and it read good. Today i checked all the grounds and wiring harnesses i could find, wiggling and pulling on them. I checked my main power wire coming off batt by skinning back some insulation and checking for corrosion... so far so good. So i thought what the heck. stuck , the fuse back in and gave it a try. she fired rite up. yes bad i know. fixed the problem and have no idea what it was. But thank you for your help

I think your battery should be around 12.6v-13.8v fully charged? Is it 12 dead on?

Just a bunch of old crap
I was thinking the same thing. Even Vato Zone batteries run about 13.3-13.5v. 12.0 is too low and something is amiss. However, usually a bad cell shorts the battery and you can't even start it. I'm lead to believe it's something else electrical that's acting up.

Any mods recently? Extra lighting? Aftermarket anything that taps into electrical? Power wash your engine?

Correct static voltage for a batter is 12.6 volts. The automotive battery has 6 internal cells, each at 2.1 volts. The charging system runs at between 13 and 15 volts, depending on electrical load. Most of the time when you finish driving a vehicle the battery will have what is called a "surface charge" that will read above the 12.6 volts. In order to get rid of this surface charge to get a true reading of the battery's available voltage you should turn on your headlights for 10-15 seconds, then turn them back off. Now recheck the voltage.

I am willing to take a safe guess that yes, there is a ground or voltage drop issue going on.
