Need brake help

In a bind and need help/suggestions.

2009 Tacoma Prerunner with no prior problems. Yesterday the brake pedal started going halfway to the floor, but hit them a second time and they were fine. Today the ABS light and the traction control light both came on. Also this morning I'm getting a noise from the front drivers side. Almost like something grinding or rubbing. Visually I can't see anything wrong. Master cylinder is still full and no sign of any leaks. I'm a long way from home working in a small town near the Louisiana state line with no garage. Any ideas what could be going on? At first I thought maybe the master cylinder was going out, but the strange noise and lights have me confused. It's definitely the front drivers side making the noise and after you pump the brakes once, that brake starts working. Any help is greatly appreciated, somehow I got to get this truck home.

 

Did you check your wheel bearings for any play?

 

Sounds like you have air in the line or the ABS control module. You pull the wheel to at least inspect the drivers side for any issues?

 

You guessed correctly. Never had a wheel bearing destroyed that bad without a little warning first. It was dry as a powder keg and nothing but pieces. But it never made a sound until this morning. The vibrations from the wheel bearing buggered up the ABS sensor so I'll have to replace that, but otherwise the truck is driving fine again or at least it appears that way. Really strange that I never heard anything or felt any vibration until this morning. Lucky I wasn't flying down the interstate when it shattered. I limped it about 1/2 mile after my original post and it gave out completely just as I was pulling up on an old building slab so I would have solid level ground to jack it up. Local folks provided the tools and also found a guy with a 30 ton press so I could get the old bearing out and press a new one on.

Between the wheel bearing suddenly shattering, the screwed up radio, the melted front turn signal lenses, and the squeaky leaf spring bushings, I'm loosing confidence in Toyota.

 

I've had one go bad on a 7500lb single axle trailer loaded with steel and welding supply's. Fucker just poofed into thin air. The weight of the trailer smashed on the axle holding the wheel on while we were doing 75 through Tuscon.
