Nothing major planned, this is my daily driver. - replaced stock tires with Cooper AT3s - added Husky WeatherBeater floor mats - installed Access Original bed cover - installed Gentex 453 mirror and the included external temp sensor, also has Homelink and auto-dim - installed ImMrYo mirror bracket - hose clamp mod and washer mod to secure tailgate, with a GateKeeper lock installed over the hose clamp - replaced stock reverse lights with Philips Halogen 30w from Home Depot GY6.35 base
After reading about Halogen backup (reverse) bulbs for the taillight, I added the Philips 30w Halogen GY6.35 base bulbs as described in this thread.

These bulbs have 750 lumen, vs. 364 for the stock bulbs. The difference is very noticable.

I took 'before' and 'after' pics, using the identical manual exposure for each picture so the pictures are comparable (otherwise the camera will give a longer exposure to the darker scene, making it look lighter than it was).

The exposure was 1/4 second, F2.0, at ISO 400 for each picture, and each was taken at the same time of night. In the 'after' picture please ignore the glare from my neighbor's Christmas lights on the upper left side.

Just curious why you went with the halogen instead of LED? I would like to replace my reverse light bulbs with something brighter. I'm trying to decide between halogen, LED, or mounting an auxiliary light or two under the bumper. Also, if you have a backup camera, how is the camera effected? I read on another thread the LED's may throw the camera image off. Thanks for any info you may be able to provide.

Grillcraft, with front and rear bumper/bed in the works.
So for no work and close to equal money and more light out put why not get the 800 lumen leds from csjumper?

I was not aware of the LED option. I read the thread I referenced, liked the idea of the bulbs mentioned, and put in the halogen bulbs.

I like LED technology, and will certainly look into them if/when these halogens fail in the future.
