    I have a 2013 w/o JBL.

    Here's what I have installed

    JBL MS-62C 6.5's
    Rockford Fosgate T600-4
JL Audio Clean sweep CL441 DSP
    JL Audio 10W3

I held off on getting an aftermarket HU just because I like the factory unit. It's touch screen/has IPOD control and BT. But I've had the truck now for a few months and the IPOD control is always acting up. And I just moved somewhere I'm using NAV a lot. And I have sirius on seperate unit. So I just want to centralize/consolidate/unify lol....all of this.

SO....I'd like some suggestions on the best HU to buy. I want a double DIN. I'm assuming 7" would be the biggest size I could get?

There are several threads like this...including one by me. I think its a matter of looking at the features you want and seeing which unit has them.

I did search and read through a few threads. But couldn't really find what I was looking for I guess. That's why I started a thread. Guess the audio forum is and odd one. You have to ask just the right question to get info.

I just want NAV/SAT and a good EQ. So I guess I'm asking what are the better HU's out there? That get the best sound from? That have the best NAV/SAT controls?

Lowered 3/4, debadged, led tails, projector headlights with hids, billet grill, blacked out windows, painted front and rear bumper and grill shell. Inside, 4 crappy 15's, suede wrapped headliner and door panel inserts, alpine double din, few painted pieces inside, and every led is either blue or white.
Personally I like the Kenwood radio's the best out there. Even though I have an Alpine with nav that I have had for a couple years now. I worked in a stereo shop and we carried Kenwood, Pioneer, and Jensen (sadly). I always tried to move the Kenwood radios because the excelon series has a two year warranty. Plus I really like that they use Garmin based navigation that is very common and easy to use and update. Plus the higher end units have high preouts for amps and a pretty good eq built in. I'd personally go with the Kenwood DDX-890HD but that is just a suggestion.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the Nav units from Kenwood, Alpine, or Pioneer. Its just a matter of which one you prefer. The Kenwood that dubbedSinner mentioned has a 13-band EQ. Does that make it better than the Alpine INE-S920HD with a 9-band EQ even though the Alpine is $200 less? Perhaps, but only if you can hear a difference. You might actually like the sound from the Alpine. Before I bought my head unit I tried out all the brands. I didn't really like the UI of the Pioneers or Kenwoods, but they sounded nice. I don't know how much I narrowed down your search, but you'll have a better idea once you go and test some out. Good luck.

I have an Alpine navigation double din in my truck and personally I don't really like it. I have had problems ever since I got it with the navigation not working right. Plus there is hardly any adjustments that you can make for the eq. Granted it is a couple years old. I would just stay away from Alpine radio's though. The stereo shop that I used to work at that has been in business for over 30 years used to carry Alpine dropped them because of issues with the radios. Once again just my recommendation and personal preference. Not saying one is right or wrong.

Thanks so much for the info. I've had alpines in the past and didn't have any issues...but it's been a while and they weren't double DIN's with NAV/etc. I did check out the Kenwood already and it looked nice.

So yeah the "User friendly" part is big. I would assume any good HU with an EQ will be fine. I don't use NAV a lot so if it's not the best that wouldn't bug me too much.
