Since cold weather have hit, I'm getting insane amount of water in my oil catch can. The problem about collecting water is that I can't empty the can with water being frozen inside.

Here's what I collected in about 600km(350mi) of road trip. No short trip:

I'd say 90-95% of it is water. I've been able to melt most of the ice by taking a 30min trip.

What I want to know is, am I the only one having problems with collecting water in cold weather? I'd like some input by a fellow canadian or someone living in cold weather who has installed a catch can.

I must say, oil look clean(no water) and coolant does not seem to drop.

    Thanks all!

Nope no short trip as stated. Pretty much 300km each way, 1 day between trips.

This is what comes out of my catch can in the winter, just more humid with all the snow. It's not in the crank case so no worries...

The can I use is twice the size so that's why I drain at 2-3K

as far as the ice I drain after I come home and never had an issue, It's Home Depot PVC pipe made if it matters

OP, what can are you using? It seems to be doing a good job of collecting the water and crap.

Yes it's aluminum. I doesn't have any baffle or mesh inside. It's just an empty can but still collects a lot of liquid.
