OME 886x and 5100's all the way around. Toytec AAL. Phillips x-treme vision headlights. 886 reverse lights. Borla exhaust. 20% tint. Hi 6 mod. 285/65/18 Nitto TG on 18" Moto Metal 955's. Airaid intake. Scanguage2.JBA LT's.GC Grill..more to come.
just got a "new to me" 96 Tacoma 3.4...the previous owner reversed the jumper cables and blew some fuses. everything has been checked, double checked and replaced. I have no "constant hot" at the factory harness. I checked and replaced the fuse at the kick panel. Everything in the truck works now except the radio. What am I missing? Thanks in advance!

edit: the accessory works just not the constant

Check the fuse box under the hood, but with the cables reversed, the head unit may have been blown.

Lowered 3/4, debadged, led tails, projector headlights with hids, billet grill, blacked out windows, painted front and rear bumper and grill shell. Inside, 4 crappy 15's, suede wrapped headliner and door panel inserts, alpine double din, few painted pieces inside, and every led is either blue or white.
^ Definitely possible. Pull out the radio and make sure there is actually power at the harness.

in my original post i said there is no power at the factory harness....i went through all the fuses under the hood and at the kick panel. what would the radio be tied into under the hood?

I have don't have wiring diagrams for the older models, but that would be your best tool to trace wiring. While I highly doubt there is another dedicated "radio" fuse under the hood, you just never know. Assuming EVERYTHING else in the cabin is working fine I'd start looking at faulty wiring. Maybe something came loose.

Can you check if you're getting +12V on both sides of the Radio fuse? From there put your meter on "Ohm" mode and check continuity between the fuse output and your radio harness. If all else fails, run a new wire to your fuse panel or battery.

My bad, I over read that. You can do what the guy above me said and check continuity between the fuse for the radio and the wire behind the radio. If all else fails and everything checks out right you can always just find a new source for constant power. As long as find a good source for power and fuse it that would work fine.

I just re-read my post. sorry if that sounded dickish. I'll check continuity tomorrow...and if all else fails I'll just wire up a seperate constant for it...thanks again

FIXED!....the constant hot is tied into the DOME fuse under the hood...there was no fuse there thats why I didnt check it. Hopefully this will help someone in the future.

At least it turned out to be an easy fix.
