Any negatives to lightly painting

Any experts out there know if there would be any negatives to a light coat of Matte high temp paint being applied to all the silver/alloy paraphernalia behind the grill insert.

Planning to do a grill insert mod (Rigid Ind, LED Light Bard insert) over the holidays and I want to obscure all the flashy stuff back there. I have seen others do it but wondering if it would grossly affect the cooling cop acuity of the radiator etc if it is a light coat?

Nope. I painted mine with high temp about a year and a half ago. Could use a once over by now but it still looks good.

 

There are tons of threads about this and I haven't heard anyone say anything negative about doing it. I have the Rustoleum matte black grill paint(Lowes), just waiting on homer to finish the grill before I use it.

Awesome guys. I have seen many of th ethreads but I was just wanting to make sure there where no negatives. I would have gotten a Homer Satochi, but to difficult to get. Fantastic workmanship.

 

Rustoleum matte black grill paint is what i used worked fine no heating or cooling problems

 

I used 2000* engine paint I picked up somewhere a long time ago.
Did this last Saturday, just wiped it down and sprayed. I need to put another coat over some stuff I missed and to make it a deeper black. Easiest mod to date.

You don't need high temp paint, like others said, matte black rustoleum or krylon will do the trick. Going on over 3 years and no problems with mine.
