MAF clean? Diff oils fresh? Parking break not tight? Or maybe your drive, like my grandfather's walk to school everyday, is uphill both ways? Also, try a different gas station.

I was just being a smart-ass about uphill both ways. But seriously, jack the back tires off the ground, blocked fronts, in neutral and make sure they freely spin. The weight of the truck will cause it to roll even with some drag. Search for threads on how to clean the MAF sensor. Keep digging.

Was the last refueling until the pump clicked off?
If so, and you only got 85 miles before the gauge got that low, I'd be suspecting that someone is stealing your gas.
Inspect the tank for a hose that is JB-Welded into it and tucked up in the frame or wheel-well.
Would not surprise me at all in Huntington Park California (not sure what state you are in).

Could a saturated charcoal evap canister cause decreased fuel economy? I suspect my canister may be dead. At almost any fuel station that uses the evap recovery boot type nozzle, I have to hold the nozzle at a high angle or somehow keep the boot from fully sealing against the filler hole or else the nozzle keeps kicking off.

There are a few stations that I have to do that as well.
I would imagine a saturated canister may make a difference, but you should throw a CEL if it can't properly purge.

Well I have many of you beat. According to Fuelly.com, which I use religiously i am at 14.8 mpgs average. My DCSB TRD V6 has a mild lift and LT265/75/16 Duratracs plus an exhaust and K&N drop in. The issue from what I gather is I do ALL city stop and go driving, I do a lot of idling now that its cold as balls here in the NorthEast, I use 4x4 often in snow, my area consists of many hills and traffic lights so I would say this all kills my MPG's
I run 89 and sometimes 93 octane and in the winter months i see no difference in mpgs. I drive normal and if I need to step on it I do so that isnt good for my mpg figures for sure :D
Bet you guys will like this one- my last fill up was a few days ago and its been cold and snowy in the NE so I have been in and out of 4x4 and doin a lot of idling to warm cab up for my 2 year old and i saw 12mpgs:eek::eek::eek:

I had a whopping 10 last fill up granted I was not on empty though 142 miles on the tank not sure how many gallons I put in... But it's been cold and snowy here in Ohio and like others Lots of idling and in 4wheel drive, but on a outing my ultra gauge is telling me my instant MPG is up and down but avg is like 15 mpg... I'd say....

My mpg is terrible. I have resorted to start running the old non-ethanol gas that a local station here carries (I still run in all my small engines, boat, lawnmower, etc..) to see if it will help the mpg's. Truck with 85,000 mi and just had dealership fully service bumper-bumper so can't blame maintenance. Anyone else here running the "old school" gas to get better mileage?

V6, Access Cab, 4wd. Last tank was 11.7L/100KM or 20.5mpg. Lots of hills and mountain passes on that tank, I wasn't driving it economically or anything. It has 265/75R16 10 ply All Terrains, with the factory tires it was even better on fuel.

Running Shell "Bronze", so nothing special. Not concerned with fuel economy really, my fuel bill is only 4% of my annual expenses. I feel bad for people who have a long daily commute.

lots of stop and go traffic for me, kills the mpg

worst i got was 10.5, best I got was mostly highway at 17.5 (summer)

now when my taco was about 3 yrs old I took a trip to Arkansas across 70 and had the cruise set to 70. I got almost 20mpg the whole way, gotta love flat land, these hills kill :(
