I'd bet that when the command start was installed, the tech didn't snap part of the dash/pillar trim back on all the way

Hey. I just joined. I bought a 2011 brand new. I have the same annoying squeak. I asked the dealer about it and they can't figure it out. They tell me they lube everything but it's still there. Seems to be when I am turning around corners at slow speeds.
I'll let you know if they figure anything out. I have a service appointment next week.

If your truck has the factory mud flaps, sometimes the clips that hold them on will work their way out when you reverse over a curb or something of similar height. The outer edge of the tread will tickle the clip when the tires are turned all the way

Congrats on the truck! The squeaks/rattles are common on these trucks.. Sometimes my driver door panel makes noises, then my dash board and then my glove box area..ect Especially if anything is ever removed or replaced (such as when my deck was replaced in my truck) im never able to have a quiet ride.. It will annoy me at times but I have been able to get used to it over time..

From a dealership standpoint I will tell you that squeaks and rattles are the BIGGEST pains in the a$$ to deal with. I have seen techs spend hours trying to locate specific ones. Dash screws that are tight, but not TIGHT can allow minor shifting, which will cause squeaks. I took a course with GM that was dedicated to finding these types of noises. Sometimes you can get lucky, other times it takes a lot of cursing. Hahaha.

Start off finding any type of road, driving condition, or style, that allows you to duplicate this nose easily. different road surfaces can help. Finding a "washboard" style dirt road is usually the best. Drive at different speeds, gently "sawing" the steering wheel back and forth. Once you can duplicate the noise, drive with one hand and take your other hand to feel along where it seems the noise is coming from (feeling along the top dash pad, or bottom close outs, and the steering column) Once you get it narrowed down, remove ONE piece of trim at a time and drive it again. Keep feeling for movement or for the one spot that you can press and make the noise go away. Remove the next piece of trim and continue until you find the cause.

It can be a LOT of work, but it can be done. As you can see, I have done this MANY MANY times at the dealer.
