Ok here is the deal i'm new to your forum and i tried to do a search but i couldn't find one anywhere so here is my question. i have 1 kid i drive a tundra now which is fine, but in the market for a tacoma and wanted to know how a car seat fits( do you have enough room is it cramped etc..) in the tacoma. Right now it is rear facing and we will proably have another kid in the near future and this is not the main vehicle for the kid to ride in the wife has that covered. But whatever i get will be 4 door any pictures and responses would help out alot. And thanks in advance

Welcome to TW  I don't have a whole lot of knowledge on the subject but in my time here I have seen some photos of carseats in the trucks. Here are 2 links that I found pertaining to car seats. The second may not be the type of carseat you are looking for as it is more of a booster style.

    Check 2nd page for photos.

    Welcome.
Rear facing will require you to pull your seats forward some.
Front is a question on the seat itself and the design. If your tall parents then go to a dealer with the troups or find someone with a dc and do a trial run. My situation was a non issue because my wife is not tall and there was plenty of room behind her in her normal sitting position.

Rear facing seats can get a little cramped but not bad. Try to pick out a smaller seat if you can. FWIW I was looking at Tundras a while back and there is the same room front to back in the back seat in a Tundra double cab as there is in a Tacoma double cab.

Man you guys are quick to respond and I really appreciate it. Ya I drive a 07 double cab and she fits back there pretty good but I really wanting to get a Tacoma now. I really have no more use for the tundra all I tow now is my boat and it might weigh 3000 pounds loaded so I don't think the Tacoma would have a problem.

I have 2 car seats in the back, one rear facing and one front facing and it's crammed IMO. It's a PITA to have to move both seats around to get my kids in (ages 4 & 2). It's not too often both my girls me and the wife all ride in the truck, but when the car seats eat up the back and there's little cabin room left to store things it feels crowded to me, that's why I'm looking at a full size that gets close to the same mileage as my Tacoma and has nicer newer features I want. It's not for everyone, but the Tacoma was not really meant to be a family hauler. There are some who will say it all fits with no issues, keep in mind height of the front occupants, I am 6'2.

Ya i bet that is a tight fit for you. The wife and I are not tall she might be 5 4 and im right at 6ft but if we ever go anywhere as a family we always take her honda pilot. I havent sold the tundra just yet still looking at the tacoma's. But maybe after the holidays i will have a little more time to look at the tacoma's a little more and actually take the car seat and family with me and see how we all fit.
