Approximately 10 years ago I owned a base 1989 2.4 liter Toyota truck. Not exactly the safest vehicles on the road, but they were great trucks.

I now own a base 2003 2.4 liter Tacoma. This one has the dual air bags and also has ABS....

Any of you Toyota truck experts know how much safer the 03 truck is than the 89? For example, has the structural integrity of the cab been improved over the years?

    thanks in advance
