Got my Rockauto grille in the mail yesterday and I noticed a few tabs weren't properly attached

Get what you pay for, nothing a little plastic weld won't fix. But it got me thinking, could you cut away at all the tabs to separate the grille into two pieces...

(It would split along this seam)

...then place some mesh between the pieces and plastic weld it all back together for a thin lip Satoshi? You would still have to cut the grille bars but no fiberglass/bondo. Anybody tried this before?

Some of this Some of that
I split mine like that to paint it a while ago, It came apart easy enough. Sounds like you have a cool idea, it would look like a grille craft mesh insert. The trick would be to trim surface where the two meet so the mesh fits and the tabs can be welded back together

It would definitely be a lot of trimming the mesh to fit. Good to hear that you've successfully split it like that though, I was worried there was adhesive as well. I'm hoping the thin lip will let me fit an 20" LED bar in a cutout section of mesh on the bottom of the inner grill lip.

When you reattached yours, did you use an actual plastic welder or plastic bonding epoxy?

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
Drill some strategic holes and zip tie it. I did the same.
