I am looking at 3 different trucks and here is a quick spec on them. Which would you choose and why. All are PreRunners and 4 door with original owners on each. All appear cosmetically great.

    2002 Tacoma V6 with 112,000 miles. (Belt changed at 80k) $10,000

    2005 Tacoma V6 with 110,000 miles. $12,500

    2006 Tacoma V6 with 90,000 miles. $14,500

I don't really pull anything other than the occasional small utility trailer 3 or 4 times a year.

I drive about 15 miles one way to work.

Let me hear yalls thoughts. Thanks.

Assuming all the trucks are in equally good shape and had all the maintenance done i would go with the 2002 because its the cheapest and you know toyotas can last to 300,000 miles easily. I also would choose the 1st gen because I like the way they look better, but that's just my opinion.

Also I don't personally believe in getting a vehicle the first couple of years they come out because they have to work out the 'bugs' still. Still solid trucks though. Don't even know if I helped at all.

Even though i love my 2nd gen, i'd prob. go with the 1st gen. thats low mileage for that year, did an old man own it who never drove? I've had both 1st and 2nd gens, only drawback for the 1st gen (for me) was the weaker engine. Other than
that, my 1st gen was a tank and lasted forever.

    Bone stock for now....
Good points. If you break it down, the mileage spread is very minimal, I would say its a non-factor. All V6 motors.

So, decide if you prefer 1st or 2nd gen. If 1st, your done. If 2nd, go with the 06.

Yes an older man and woman own the 02. I have owned a 22RE, 3.4, and the 4.0. No doubt 4.0 with more ponies. But not really pulling anything just to justify based on that for me. I like the old and new body styles, heck I even like the old skools. I am really in limbo on this. Part of me says go with newest less miles and other part says dang $4000 less to save 20,000 mile gap. Darn decisions. Do you feel they are priced about right for mileage and year model? some of these cats where I am will ask $18 - 19,000 for a 2006 or 07 with 180,000 miles.

The 02 mileage is below average for its year and probably hard to find. The other two are average miles, assuming we are all using the 15k per year rule. That might be a factor for me.

i would never buy a prerunner seems like a lot of money for a 2wd. but id probably go for the 06. why spend 10 grand on a 12 year old truck even if it does have low mileage? id be more inclined to go for the newer 2nd gen. more refined and all around a nicer truck. im sure ill get flamed for saying that but just my opinion.

Well, I went with the 06 with 90k miles. I got a pleasant surprise when I went to look at it. It had the SR5 package and was very clean (even the frame lol). The other huge surprise that I didn't not notice in the picture was it was a LWB. I was actually looking for a LWB so that was a good thing. The only issue is that ridiculous door arm rest that cracks. It's not bad yet but I can tell it is cracked. If that is only issue that shows up......I scored.
