Can I fit 15" wheels

Ok thanks that's what I was beginning to think

 

Not really that much more, are they? And 15's are getting harder and harder to find it seems. At least around here.

I have a set of stock 15 inch steels sitting in the boxes in my garage

 

Through Discount Tire, 35x12.50x15 Goodyear MTRs are $221 while similar sized 315/75/R16 MTRs are $290, not to mention 15" wheels can be significantly less costly as well. The 15" steelies from Wheeler's are $59, while the 16"s are $78. A $350 difference with those tire/wheel combos. I like the look of more tire anyway...

I'm in the same boat too. Same rim but I have 3.75" backspacing with no rubbing.

 

Yes, but it would also change the scrub radius. If you had wheels with a spoke design that bent around the caliper, they would clear without needing the spacer and change of scrub radius.

Big question for you fellas. Having trouble running a 275x55x20. The top of the tire is rubbing on my upper control arm. Whats the best way to measure spacer length? Use the difference between my 285x75x16's that didn't rub in by width? Help lol.

 

I have 15" pro comp steels and the caliper rubs, would it be safe to put washers on?? Anyone tried it?

 

Never heard of that solution but my first instinct is it sounds sketchy. The mounting surface of the wheel would only be making contact with the hub at the 6 washer locations, rather than sitting flush with the hub for max traction. I don't have any facts to back that up though...

 

Don't do that, just buy .25" spacers and call it good. I've been running them for a while now with hard off-roading and no issues,,, the washer idea on the other had sounds sketch to me

 

Would I need longer studs with the .25 spacers?

 

I'm a little late to the party, but I had this exact same scenario a few years ago. I ended up grinding off the lips that rubbed and later scrapped the wheels when they warped.

Not all stamped steel 15's will fit properly, alloy wheels in a 15" will not have this problem and should fit fine.

Washers are typically not a uniform thickness. I would not use them as wheel spacers. Also stacking them will result in a shorter stud that will have less threads left for the nuts and Toyota studs are notoriously soft anyway. Not worth the risk imo.

 

I'm running spacers too, would like to run longer studs but it's to cold to deal with this problem right now.

 

Some first gens came with 16s, mostly later models with vsc option. Rare but it is a thing.
