Opportunity to buy a 4runner.....Should I?

I have a 2000 Tacoma with a 3.4L so I know about the motor but a guy at work is selling his 2000 4runner.

This is what I know....

3.4L with Supercharger
190K
timing belt changed recently
All records
Original owner
Limited

Also what are problems that you all see in the SC, I know nothing about them. This will be my wife's DD and we would be getting rid of a 2004 Rav4 with 145k.

He said $4500 but I might be able to get him down to 4K.

If it runs well and you can get him to 4k...go for it. Offer him $2500.

Supercharger usually requires valve body upgrade for the auto transmission and 7th injector or supra (high flow) injectors with an upgraded fuel pump

Also gas has to be premium

If you don't have the upgrades you can destroy the transmission easily if you drive it hard
