Maglite - 3 D Cell - Battery acid leak/corrode

Hello all. Wasnt sure where else to post this thread but I have a 3 cell D Maglite. The D cells leaked battery acid all over the internals of the flashlight. I was wondering if the flashlight is still functional and how I go about cleaning out the acid. Thanks

 

Having used Maglites for years, toss it and get a nice modern LED light. I have a Fenix TK35 and it absolutely destroys any Maglite I've ever used.

My thoughts as well. There are tons of lights that are way brighter and way smaller than any Mag Light. Fenix, Jet Beam, 4-Sevens, O-Light, StreamLight and Sure Fire among several others. Look over on candlepowerforums.com and read till your hearts content.
