    Ever heard of this?

Over the weekend I found my lug nuts vandalized. Each nut on both front wheels had been center-punched with a punch or drift. This causes the sheet metal jacket to deform and you can no longer get a wrench on the nuts. I know the lug nuts were not like this the previous weekend when I worked on the suspension. I had to drive a 21mm socket on each one with a hammer to get them off.

There has been an ongoing series of vandalism events in the otherwise quiet neighborhood. The events are targeted at members of a homeowners association board (my wife was on the board). Many poisoned trees, expanding foam insulation spayed into sewer clean outs (filling the sewer lines with foam, requiring replacment of sewer line), lug nuts removed from wheels (noticed at speed on the highway), etc. The dude doing this is a psyco.

This morning, Christmas morning, a lady in the neighborhood who was a past member of the board woke up to foam filled sewer lines. This happened to us as well last June.

I would love to know where this guy is getting his bag of tricks. Anybody ever heard of either the foam in sewer or the lug nut punching? If these are described someplace on the net, I'd like to see what else is on the list to anticipate future acts.

The cops are watching and have cameras set up, but he seems to know when/where. I'd like to go beat his MF ass, but he would use the system and be the victim.

    Suggestions?

My old lug nuts look like that. Mines from using an impact on a short socket.

I might suspect that if I had not taken them off myself last weekend with no impact.

I've heard of most of the things but not from an on line source. It was from a group of employees attempting to switch unions. The group wanting the new union were "helping" the hold out brothers of the old union understand the need for new representation. We actually had one event where lug nuts on all four wheels where loosened enough to cause an accident. However they'd loosened the lug nuts on the wrong "brother", turned out it was a non-union secretary with the same type and color car. Several peeps had visitors at their home.

That's the stupidest shit I've ever seen. Just annoying.

Find the dickbag, and vandalize his nuts.

you know he strikes at random times ofthe year. Dont mention it to him but set up cameras at your place. If you ever catch him, dont even call the police.

No. OP you were right. Gather evidence but let the police handle it. Otherwise it may be you in jail not the perp.
The question is, who in the HOA community never gets vandalized? This should narrow the suspect list down. Also, if you can drop the coin, get a multiple camera dvr system. Great evidence if you catch them on camera!

I thought of that, but it sounds like only the board members are being targeted. In a large community, the "suspect list" could number in the dozens.

Smaller community like mine, it's pretty easy to figure out (harder to collect evidence). Who has had issues with the board? Who keeps writing letters that are unreasonable, and thus, never "resolved"?

We have one member that seems to think we are the cops and kept complaining that his neighbor was trying to poison his dog.
To make him happy, we did everything we legally could....
We sent a letter out that said "The HOA Board of Directors needs to remind all residents that it is impolite and illegal to poison your neighbor's dog"
The complainer was not amused, but we never heard from him again.

Had another one complaining about a new owner that "looked like a gang banger"
Okay... so now we need to tell the real estate agents who they can and can't sell to, and we're supposed to institute a dress code that prohibits tank tops, bandanas, and requires that your pants go from your belly button to your ankles?

    Ya, right.

I should have mentioned we "know" exactly who the perp is, just can't prove it yet.

Wow crazy story. If y'all know who it is... Maybe give him something back. If you can't do anything about it legally then, let him see what it feels like to have his property messed with.
