I recently bought a truxedo truxport cover for my 2012 reg cab tacoma. So far I love it especially the versatility of it. However there are two things that I am wondering about that I couldn't find an answer for. First is it normal when driving for the front half cab side to puff up slightly while the tailgate half sinks slightly? I assume it is unavoidable but am curious still. Second and more importantly, the cover is watertight except at the front where the track rails mount to the cab wall, small trickles of water seep between the rail and cab wall. Is there any way around this?
Thanks for any input it's not bad just want to resolve it if possible.

Hey it might be that it has to settle in the truck. From what I have read the sun will form it better to the truck. I'm no expert but was looking for mynown tonneau cover questions and did see this once or twice. Hope this helps

yeah that may be i put it on in january so it might not have settled yet. I think i am going to loosen the bolts slightly and try to massage it tighter lol. the water issue is actually not involving the cover at all. It is the bed rail at the front of the bed that the tie down cleats hook into. where it is mounted horizontaly across the bed there is a tiny hair gap between it and the bed wall. water will trickle slightly down between it.

If you can take it off, put a bead of silicone down and remount, that will solve the leaking issue.

No tonneau manufacturer will guarantee a cover to be totally watertight. Some covers and designs will do better than others. These smaller leaks are generally a DIY fix situation.

I would say your "puff" and "dip" are just the aero effects of the truck moving. The cab creates a negative airspace at the front. As the air rolls off the cab, it hits right ahead of the tailgate.

    Hello Forum,
I know this thread is fairly old but I want to share this. I have a Truxport Soft roll-up tonneau & it leaks slightly down the front wall of the bed (part nearest to the cab) on both corners with heavy rain. Some people have been lucky to have no water go in but others haven't. However, I can live with that small trickle because I also have the OEM rubber mat & the water trickles down & under the mat so everything in the bed is dry.

I also have a tool chest bolted to the bed so what ever I carry will not be resting up against the front wall so it won't get wet either way.

    Hope this helps.
    :D
