How does one plug in the laptop and use it? Just wondering. Thank you for your info! I'm leaning back towards the USA SPEC PA15 again....but i really like that i know the grom can have a USB port for charging...

    I have a kit from gta.http://www.gtacarkits.com/toyota_tacoma_2005_2012_car_kit.php
It allows me to connect both a headphone jack or an ipod4 style charger. When using the ipod connencting you can scroll through your ipod with the steering wheel comtrols and the factory display reads the song playing. It plugs into a slot on the back of the stock deck. Its perfect. Hasnt skipped a beat. Plays loud and clear. Some fm adapters wont let you crank it.

I'm not crazy about the hybrid and locked modes it goes through. How do you like its modes? but i like how in the video they routed it into the console....i'll be doing that with which ever one i choose.
    Thanks robsam!

I had a PA15 for 5-6 years and it worked just like it should. But I hated having to run it from the ipod if I wanted to access anything besides the 5 playlists you have to name with TOY at the beginning. When I bought my current truck I bought a cheap $50 adapter from Amazon that plugs in and works like a PA15 but with no display features on the head unit. The thing absolutely blows. It doesn't even pause the ipod when you shut the truck off. I really want bluetooth now too and after looking at all the adapters out there I'm just changing the head unit now. Ordered a double din pioneer last night and all the install stuff. Even with the adapter for the steering wheel controls it was only like $50 more than a PA15. Of course it's one more thing that'll snowball. Before long I'm sure I'll be installing new speakers and adding an amp and sub...

Do any of these integrations not disable the CD deck?

The USA Spec PA-15 doesn't effect the CD player use

I read a review on Amazon that it did....must've been an older model. I think i'm still leaning towards the USA SPEC PA15

Personally I'd go with the PA15-TOY if all you want is iPod. I went with the Grom for the bluetooth as well as iPod capabilities and price.

I want to be able to hook up my 30pin ipod 4th gen and have another wire to hook in my iphone 5s (lightning conector) i'd rather buy a cable than buy an $50 apple 30pin AV connector.
