I have done 2 now. And I have to say, grinding the rivets flat, drilling into them about a 1/4" with a 1/2" bit, then beating them with the BFH is the best way to get the ones out that are vertical. As for the ones that are also holding the rear crossmember, I found those easiest to grind flat and drill all the way through.... like Craig said, they are a bitch regardless of what method you use....

    yes what? lol

I checked your build and it looks like your model is different than the one I have. you only have one hole for shackle adjustment right?

I'll let ya know when I get a chance to use it. Might tackle this on New Years Day, then might not because it will be colder than what I would like it to be outside.

    Looks good

so im new to the tacoma/trucks but not doing work on vehicles, so here is my question why arent more 2nd gens running these?

reading it helps increase droop (great for crawling), but lose a tiny bit of up travel (not a big deal) while needing bigger bumps to prevent negative arch, but they provide easy lift. so it seems to me there isnt much of a drawback.

is there something i am missing as to why more dont besides money?

You lose a lot of the weight capacity of the leaf pack. For whatever reason, the inverted shackle has a better weight capacity and all of the leaf packs designed for 2nd gens are designed to work with it. When you flip the shackle, the leaf pack loses some of it's weight capacity and some of the heavier rigs have had problems with bottoming out more.

So if you haul and/or tow a lot this may not be the best mod. If you want more down travel for wheeling then this is a great mod!
