Wifey let me open a Christmas present early!

I messed up and gave her the wrong part #, so I ended up with the non-tapered version.

I ended up just grinding them down and voila! Like everyone else mentioned these look a lot brighter in person and I can actually see light in my side mirrors now!

This might get complicated by the time it's all over...

So, I think I've got a solution to get my HID wiring to work with my offroad lights! I think they are going to work awesome when I'm done... especially with my new yellow filters!

I'm going to do a Morimoto retrofit(sort of) into my Vision X offroad lights! Right now, I've got halogen setup with lo/hi beams. After I'm done, the plan is to have a lo/hi beam HID setup. I've got to cut the Morimoto harness to reroute come wiring, and make my own brackets for the ballasts inside the Vision X housing, so it's not quite plug and play. But, when it's done, it should be awesome!

^For the price, it seems like a great unit. It has Bluetooth, Pandora, front USB and it can play WMVs and MP3s. Talked on the phone and it sounds clear through the speakers and Wifey said I sound clear on the other end. Now, I'm kicking myself for not upgrading sooner!

Long story short, go for it!

^I know what you mean... I'd go for something nicer in the car, too. BUT, in my beater truck, I couldn't argue with $66!

Yea wish I had done some when I had mine out. But to get to the firewall and pulling everything. So not worth it.

I went snow bashing today with some friends but only snagged 3 pics on my cell.

First, wood chopping. We ended up clearing 2 big trees from the trail

Second, I accidentally ran my truck through the top of a fallen tree

    Third, the rigs lined up

So, I worked on my HID setup today.

First, I widened the pass through on the housing to fit connectors through. It turns out that there isn't enough room to fit the ballasts inside the housing, so I'll mount them under the hood.

    20131229_195837_zpsaa7b3bc4_bf97de49b1219afcfb0cee2b02882f474c53dff1.jpg

Here's what the pig tail looks like... does anyone know if these connectors are weatherproof? (I'm getting a rubber grommet to fill that big hole)

    20131229_200534_zpsde446dd5_3141197cc54481aa4946b807ed786d63cc3fcb8a.jpg

Finally, I test fired one 55w HID and compared it to my buddy's Mazdaspeed 3.

    20131229_210853_zpsc5015af0_d1c933e5b8b94da26f4035dcc730c6480c5471d6.jpg

Here's a shot of the HID in low and my low beams on:

Overall, I think I can get the light down the road without blinding people. Hopefully, I know for sure soon...

Yea the connectors are pretty weather proof. Same as mine and no issues.

^That's what I was hoping to hear! It looks like I might pull this off... if my h13 wiring harness ever gets here.

The cutoff doesn't look too bad either. I think, once I adjust the light a little farther down, I'll be able to run the lights without flashing other people's eyes.
