    Air traed in gas tank and fill up is about two gallons short, need help to correct problem, thanks, Rob

    Yes, air is trapped in the tank. When I fill the tank, You can hear air trying to escape.
    Please note that I now have a 2002 TRD Sports Extended Cab, V-6 with auto trans.

    Perfectly normal.
    The EVAP system is fully closed.

    Use a different gas station... their vapor recovery system should pull the air from your filler tube.

    It doesn't mater which station I go to, same problem.Yes, I've tried holding the nozzle back, but it still takes for ever to fill the tank,I have to wait for all the air to escape.

    Don't know what to say.
    Fuel tanks have had closed-loop systems since the 80s. There is nowhere for the air to go when you fill except out the filler neck.

    It would seem as if there is not actually air 'stuck in the tank'. Does your guage not go up all the way or something?
